"Central Station CCTV is not useless"
Sun 16/04/06 - Video footage of the murder in the Brussels Central Rail Station last Wednesday can be used in the investigation. That's according to the judicial authorities examining the murder of 17-year-old Joe Van Holsbeeck. The number of surveillance cameras in the Central Station will be stepped up.

The images are not very clear, but can be of use to the investigators.
A judicial spokesman denied earlier reports that the video footage obtained by CCTV in the Brussels Central Rail Station is of such a poor quality that the cameras are actually useless.
The Brussels judicial authorities deny that. They claim they will soon catch the two offenders.
Extra cameras
In the wake of the murder that has shocked Belgium, it was announced that the number of surveillance cameras in Central Station will be stepped up.
It remains a secret where the extra cameras will be installed and how many are involved.
Flowers
In the mean time, the place where the boy was murdered is becoming a place of pilgrimage.
Many people visit the place and lay down a bunch of flowers.
Friends of the late Joe Van Holsbeeck have launched a petition calling for more security and a debate with juvenile delinquents.
